Florida men, women's golf teams move up in national rankings



The Florida women's golf team leaped seven spots to No. 2 in the nation according to the World/WGCA Coaches' Poll, which was released today. The Gators began the season at No. 9 in the poll.

The newest ranking reflects the Gators' impressive team victory at the Cougar Classic, and two indifidual tournament winners in sophomore Camilla Hedberg and senior Isabelle Lendl. 

In the GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings, Florida is listed at No. 6, while Hedberg and Lendl each broke into the top 10 individually. Hedberg is No. 2, while Lendl is at No. 7.  In the GolfStat Relative rankings, Florida is No. 3 and is the highest ranked team in the SEC.

The Florida men earned a victory at The Invitational at The Ocean Course and a second-place showing at the Olympia Fields/Illini Invitational, and have moved up to No. 4 in the latest Golf Week/Sagarin Rankings and sixth in the coaches’ poll and Golfstat Relative Rankings.
