Florida men's basketball moves up to No. 2 in AP and coaches poll

The Florida men's basketball team moved up two spots this week to No. 2 in the Associated Press rankings - the Gators' highest ranking since being ranked No. 1 on Feb. 12, 2007. Florida is also No. 2 in this week's coaches poll.
Florida (18-2) is undefeated in SEC play and is on a 10-game winning streak. The Gators received seven first place votes. The Gators are No. 3 in this week's RPI rankings, and No. 1 in the Sagarin basketball rankings.
Indiana moved back into the No. 1 spot this week following its win over previous-No. 1 Michigan Saturday night. This is the fifth consecutive week that the AP poll has had a new No. 1 team.
The Gators will play at Arkansas Tuesday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
The Florida players said they realize that they've become a marked target with their undefeated conference record and No. 2 ranking.
"I think now for sure every team is going to give us their best shot,'' junior center Patric Young said. "Getting more recognition means that we have to be ready for everybody bringing their best shot at us. Saying that we're this or we're that. None of that stuff really matters. We've just got to take care of what we can control coming in and trying to get better each and every day."
