Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease pleased with Jeff Driskel's progress
It's still early, but after two games Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease likes the way QB Jeff Driskel is progressing.
Pease said Tuesday that he thinks Driskel did "a good job'' overall in the Gators' win over Texas A&M - his first start of the season.
And although the Gators remain more of a run-oriented team right now, Pease said the offense will become more balanced as Driskel grows more comfortable.
"It's not that I don't trust him (to throw more),'' Pease said. "It's that I want the kid to be successful. I want our offense to be successful. I want our philosophy to fit. We know where the strength of our team is. As you get out it goes back to the run-pass balance and your run-down calls that you got to help everybody out and keep the defense where they're guessing. Yeah, he's going to grow with that. We'll continue to grow with it ourselves and understand when we can get in that rhythm a little bit more."
