Gators' sophomore Alex Panteliodis has been named to the Pitcher of the Year Watch List released by the College Baseball Foundation today.

Panteliodis is having a solid season so far for the No. 2 Gators (16-3, 3-0 SEC). He is tied for the SEC lead with five victories, rates fourth in the SEC with a 1.52 ERA and is fourth in opposing batting average (.177).

In five appearances covering 23.2 innings, Panteliodis is 5-0 and has registered 20 strikeouts. He worked a career-high 7.1 innings, with four hits and allowing two runs in last Friday’s 7-2 victory over Mississippi State to kick off league play.

He will be back on the mound on Friday night in the series opener at No. 17 Ole Miss (15-5/2-1 SEC)
against junior Drew Pomeranz (3-0, 1.23), who was also named to the Watch List.

The Pitcher of the Year Award will be presented in Lubbock, Texas, on July 2 as part of the College Baseball
