Florida QB Jeff Driskel reportedly injured in Tuesday's practice
Florida's quarterback battle may have come to an end long before coach Will Muschamp had hoped. According to several reports, sophomore Jeff Driskel injured his left shoulder in today's practice.
Robbie Andreu of The Gainesville Sun, citing unnamed sources, said the injury was "significant.'' Florida has closed practices, the the Gators have no media availability scheduled for today.
Interestingly, Muschamp said on Monday that he and offensive coordinator Brent Pease were seriously considering removing the non-contact jerseys from Driskel and Jacoby Brissett to allow them more live, game-type contact.
"Brent and I talked after the scrimmage (on Saturday) about making them, putting them in a blue jersey,'' Muschamp said. "From the simple standpoint of feeling the presence in the pocket and from the pocket collapsing, getting rid of the football, not taking a negative play. Both of them need to work on that.''
