Florida QB Jeff Driskel will start vs. Florida State
Florida coach Will Muschamp said based on the way he practiced on Tuesday, Florida sophmore QB Jeff Driskel will start on Saturday vs. Florida State.
"Jeff Driskel looked very good at practice (Tuesday) and will be ready to go,'' Muschamp said.
Asked if Driskel will start, Muschamp said "Yeah, he would at this time."
He added: "Obviously we’ve still got a couple of more days of practice, but he looked good enough to me that he’ll be fine. And Jacoby (Brissett) looks good as well. So we’ll go from there, but right now Jeff looks good."
Driskel suffered a sprained ankle in the third quarter of the Nov. 10 game vs. Louisiana-Lafayette, and backup Jacoby Brissett took over. He did not play last week vs. Jacksonville State. He practiced for the first time on Tuesday.
"He looked fine," Muschamp said. "We did everything we normally do. There was nothing limited within the package. What we did with him is the way we normally prepare for any game. Again, he looked very good (Tuesday). Unless something unheard of happens in practice today or tomorrow he ought to be ready to go Saturday."
