Florida ranked No. 22 in preseason AP poll

After surprising many experts and analysts by making their way into the USA Today Coaches Poll earlier this month, the Florida Gators are also ranked another majjor national poll.

Florida is No. 2 in the preseason Associated Press poll, which was released today.

It's the Gators' lowest ranking since being ranked No. 1 to open the 2004 season. Sincce 1990, Florida hasn't been ranked lower than No. 11 to open the season - until now.

If you're wondering, Florida coach Will Muschamp is unfazed by the rankings.

"I could care less about the poll,'' Muschamp said when asked if the polls mattered at all to him.

He has consistently said he's more concerned about getting the Gators ready for their Sept. 3 opener against Florida Atlantic.

Oklahoma is the AP's preseason No. 1, followed by Alabama, Oregon, LSU, Boise State, Florida State, Stanford, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Nebraska to round out the Top 10.
