Florida tight end Jordan Reed named to John Mackey Watch List
Florida junior tight end Jordan Reed has been named to the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List, an award presented annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end.
Reed has played in 23 games for the Gators, including 14 starts at quarterback and tight end. He has 34 career receptions for 386 yards and three touch downs. He saw action in 11 games in 2011, starting 10, earning 307 yards and 28 receptions - averaging 11.4 yards per catch and 34.1 yards per game.
The list will be narrowed to a list of semifinalists on Nov. 12, then finalists on Nov. 19. The winner will be announced live at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 6.
Reed is among seven SEC players named to the list including:
Chase Clement, LSU; Chris Gragg, Arkansas; Malcolm Johnson, Mississippi State; Phillip Lutzenkirchen, Auburn; Mychal Rivera, Tennessee and Michael Williams, Alabama.
