Florida trails Alabama 24-10 at halftime; John Brantley injured

Florida QB John Brantley suffered an injury to his right leg or foot, and left the game with 35 seconds remaining in the first half.

Brantley twisted his right leg in an awkward manner as he was being sacked by Alabama LB Courtney Upshaw. It was the second consecutive sack on Brantley after the Gators had managed to drive for a 1st down on the 15 yard line.

The senior QB was helped off the field by two members of Florida's athletic staff and was unable to put any weight on the leg. He was immediately taken to the locker room.

If Brantley is unable to return, the Gators will turn to freshman Jeff Driskel.

"We need to go win the game and Jeff Driskel certainly is capable,'' Muschamp told the Gator Radio Network at halftime.
