Florida wide receiver Andre Debose has surgery; will miss 4-6 months
Freshman wide receiver Andre Debose underwent surgery at Shands Florida Surgical Center in Gainesville Thursday to repair a torn hamstring tendon in his left thigh.
Debose is expected to need 4-to-6 months for a full recovery, UF athletic officials said.
Debose arrived in Gainesville in July nursing the injury, which UF coach Urban Meyer has said most likely occurred while Debose was running high school track.
Florida had hoped he could come in and play as a freshman, potentially helping in the role vacated by Percy Harvin. During his senior season, Debose accumulated more than 2,000 all-purpose yards at wide receiver, running back and quarterback at Sanford Seminole High.
