Florida women begin quest for third consecutive SEC tennis title
The Florida women's tennis team begins its quest for a third straight SEC Tournament title today when the Gators play No. 8-seed Tennessee in the quarterfinals at Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center on the Ole Miss campus. Tennessee defeated Auburn, 4-2 in Thursday’s first round match.

Florida enters the match with a 24-0 all-time record in the quarterfinal round. The Gators earned a 7-0 home win against the Vols (14-10) on March 2 in Gainesville in the SEC-opener for both teams.
The match between the third-ranked Gators (18-1) and the 20th-ranked Lady Vols is the fourth and final quarterfinal match scheduled for today, with an expected start time of 7 p.m.
Florida is 38-0 all-time against Tennessee, including a 7-0 record in SEC Tournament action.
Florida has won 13 consecutive matches entering Friday’s match, as well as 41 straight against SEC teams. The Gators won the SEC regular-season title outright and earned the No. 1 seed in the league’s postseason event, allowing them a first-round bye.
