Florida women earn first ranking since 2006
Riding an 8-game winning streak that includes a victory over perennial power North Carolina State on Sunday, the Florida women's basketball is ranked No. 23 in this week's AP poll.
This is the Gators' first national ranking since Feb. 27, 2006, when UF was tied-for-23rd. It is the 118th time the team has earned a spot among the top-25 in the poll's history.
The Gators' eight-game win streak is the team's longest such run since the 2005-06 season, when the team reeled off 11 straight from Nov. 27 to Jan. 5th. The current eight-game streak includes three victories at away sites and a pair on a neutral court, as well as two against teams that were nationally ranked at game time.
