Facing the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament turned out to be too tough to overcome for the Florida women's basketball team.

The Gators saw their season come to an end with a 76-57 loss to Baylor Tuesday night. Florida, which has five seniors on its roster, ends the season at 20-13.

Senior center Azania Stewart had a team-high 14 points and five rebounds, and senior guard Deana Allen added 13 points and five rebounds. Senior Lanita Bartley had 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Gators can take small consolation in the fact that they are one of only eight Baylor opponents to keep the scoring margin at or under 20 points. Baylor center Brittney Griner had a game-high 25 points, nine rebounds and six blocks. She also had her first dunk of the season in the game.

Baylor's quest to become the first 40-win national championship team in NCAA Division I history continues on Saturday when the Bears play Georgia Tech the Des Moines Region semifinal.
