Florida's Erika Tymrak named SEC Offensive Soccer Player of the Week
Florida senior Erika Tymrak has been named the SEC Offensive Soccer Player of the Week for her performance in the Gators' upset over No. 2 Duke on Sunday.
Tymrak scored the game-winning goal, in overtime, and played a part in two of the Gators' three goals. It was Florida's first win against a No. 2 team since the 1998 NCAA College Cup semifinal round.
This is the third SEC player of the week honor for Tymrak, who also scored the second golden goal of her collegiate career. The first was in 2010 versus Georgia.
Tymrak was an All-SEC first team selection in each of the last two seasons.
Florida finishes its three-match road stretch versus top-15 teams on Friday when it travels to No. 3 Florida State (2-0, 0-0 ACC). Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
