Florida's McGarity to become Georgia AD
Greg McGarity, Florida's longtime associate athletic director and No. 2 official behind athletic director Jeremy Foley, is expected to be named the new Georgia athletic director on Friday, sources have told the Associated Press.
McGarity is a native of Athens and a Georgia graduate. He began his career in Georgia’s athletic department, holding several jobs including administrative assistant, women’s tennis coach, assistant sports information director and assistant athletic director. He has worked at Florida since 1992.
McGarity will replace Damon Evans, who resigned in July following a DUI arrest.
