Following 26-21 win over Vanderbilt, Will Muschamp says Gators are battled-scarred but improving
The Florida losing streak has ended at four with a 21-21 win over Vanderbilt Saturday afternoon. And although it wasn’t an easy win, Gator coach Will Muschamp said he sees progress in the midst of the current struggle.
What Muschamp is most proud of, he said, is that he has a group of players that have not given up on themselves. Practice he said, is an intense as if they Gators are 9-0, not 5-4.
“We’re proud from the standpoint of continuing to push, practice and compete, which our guys do every day regardless of the circumstances,’’ Muschamp said. “Their approach, regardless of what has happened, they continue to push forward.’’
And in an interesting twist, Muschamp ended his postgame press conference with a pat on the back for his team and a bit of a warning to the rest of the SEC.
"Very proud of the effort that they put in,’’ Muschamp said of his team. “We're building our battle scars right now; we've got a bunch. But I know one thing: We're going to have a tough group as we move forward with this and some guys are going to be tight together in what they do, and we will benefit from the tough times we're traveling through. People better enjoy it while they got it."
