Former Gator Jeff Demps to attempt NFL career
A few days after helping the United States men's Olympic track and field team qualify for the 4x100 meter men's relay team, former Florida track/football standout Jeff Demps has decided to see if he can play in the NFL, according to NFL.com.
At 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, Demps decided to bypass the NFL Draft this past spring to focus on his track and field career. He failed to make the Olympic team, but was later added after an injury to another athlete. He was on the qualifying 4x100-meter relay team, and although he did not compete in the finals, he still earned a silver medal.
