Former Gator WR Louis Murphy, Jr. traded to Carolina
Former Florida standout receiver Louis Murphy, Jr. has been traded from the Los Angeles Raiders to the Carolina Pathers, the team announced today.
Murphy was a fourth-round pick in 2009 and had 75 receptions for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns in his first two seasons. But he started just one game last season due to a groin injury. He had 15 receptions for 241 yards.
But Murphy was slowed by a groin injury last season and started only one game.
Murphy will be reunited with former Gator QB Cam Newton. Newton, who was a teammate of Murphy's with the Gators, but later transferred to Auburn, is the Panthers' starting QB.
