Former Gators Frankie Hammond, Omarius Hines to play in All-Star game today

Former Gator WR Frankie Hammond Jr. and RB Omarius Hines will both play in the second annual Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game today in Tucson, Ariz. The two will be part of the East team.

Hammond and Hines are the first Gators to ever participate in the game. It is one of the first national college all-star games that will precede this spring’s NFL Draft. 

The two seniors are coming off strong seasons for the Gators. Hammond finished third on the team in receiving yards (295 yards) and fourth in catches (22) after playing in all 13 games this year. He also had three touchdowns this season and finished his Gator career with touchdowns and 809 yards on 63 catches. Hammond also had the longest reception of the year for UF after a 75-yard touchdown connection with quarterback Jeff Driskel helped the Gators defeat Tennessee in the third game of the season.

Hines had a breakout season with 242 receiving yards, fourth on the team, with 23 receptions. He also had 164 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns. Hines averaged nearly eight yards a carry and over 12 yards per game. For his career, he finished with 330 yards on the ground with four touchdowns and also 801 receiving yards on 64 catches with two touchdowns.
