Gator baseball team goes for second win in series vs. Kentucky
After earning a 5-3 victory over No. 6 Kentucky Thursday night, the No. 5 Gators wiill try for a second win in the three-game series tonight in Lexington.
The Gators (34-12, 13-9 SEC) got a solo home run by Tampa's Preston Tucker (2-for-4, two RBI) in the first inning, and a three-run third inning to help secure the victory.
With the win, the Gators moved within a game of the Wildcats in the conference standings, while No. 3 South Carolina (34-11, 14-7 SEC and No. 4 LSU (36-10, 14-7 SEC) share the league lead.
Florida's Karsten Whitson (3-0, 3.86) will be tonight's starter, while Kentucky junior Jerad Grundy (4-1, 4.29) will start for the Wildcats. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and will be televised on CSS.
