Gator basketball team defeats Jacksonville 107-62
Junior guard Kenny Boynton had a game-high 22 points and senior Erving Walker added 21 points and six assists to help lead Florida to a 107-62 victory over Jacksonville University Friday night at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
The Gators shot 44 percent from 3-point range and have hit 11 or more 3-point shots in all five of their games this season.
"I felt like this game was the best game we’ve played in terms of how I envision our team playing offensively and defensively,'' Florida coach Billy Donovan said. "We moved the ball, we shared the ball. I thought we wre really active in our press. We were able to cause a lot of havoc even though we dind’t turn them over a lot it created a tempo and a pace for us that offensively we were really able to get out on the break.''
The Gators were without junior forward Erik Murphy who has an unknown knee injury was attended the game on crutches. Sophomore forward Casey Prather reaggravated a groin injury and missed the second half.
