Gator Bowl ticket sales steady, but tickets still availiable
Both Florida and Ohio State have sold a good share of their alloted tickets for the Jan. 2 Gator Bowl, but plenty of tickets remain.
According to Florida officials, about one-half of Florida's 15,000 tickets have been sold, while Ohio State has sold approximately 6,200 of its alloted 12.750 tickets.
Also, club seats on Florida's side of the stadium have sold out. Gator Bowl president Rick Catlett told The Florida Times-Union that the secondary market for lower-bowl seats and club seats is still generating ticket sales for slightly more than face value. The Gator Bowl Association, through Ticketmaster, has less than 6,000 upper-bowl tickets remaining, meaning more than 67,000 have been sold, the newspaper reported. Local sales are at approximately 42,000.
Both Florida and Ohio State will enter the game with a 6-6 record.
