Gator RB Mike Gillislee named Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week
Florida senior RB Mike Gillislee has been named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in Florida's upset victory over No. 4 LSU on Saturday.
Gillislee rushed for 146 yards on a career-high 34 carries, and had two touchdowns in the victory. LSU had been allowing just 83 rushing yards a game. A native of Deland, Gillislee also had two 12- yard touchdown runs.
This is the ninth year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Football Division I player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.
Oregon State's Jordan Poyer is the National Defensive Player of the Week.
Florida will play at Vanderbilt on Saturday at 6 p.m.
