Gators advance to College World Series with 9-8 extra-inning win over NC State



It took six hours and eight minutes - including a two-hour, 23-minute rain delay – and ten innings.

But when it was all over, Florida defeated NC State 9-8 in 10 innings Sunday in front of 4,568 at McKethan Stadium.

Florida (47-18) advances to the College World Series for the third consecutive season. It is the first time in school history that UF has made three straight College World Series.

The win was Florida's 23rd come-from-behind victory of the season. No. 1 Florida (47-18) will face either No. 8 South Carolina or Oklahoma on Friday or Saturday. Parings will be announced Monday night following the completion of the Super Regionals.
