Gators battling injuries to several key players
Florida might be without two starting defensive players and a running back when the Gators travel to play Florida State on Saturday.
Florida coach Urban Meyer said starting CB Jeremy Brown and and starting LB A.J. Jones are both probable with hamstring injuries. Freshman WR Andre Debose (ankle) is questionable. Freshman DT Dominique Easley (high ankle sprain) is also questionable. He was unable to practice on Sunday.
DL Earl Okine is doubtful with a concussion he suffered on special teams in this past Saturday's game against Appalachian State, and CB Janoris Jenkins (concussion) will be evaluated further today to determine his playing status.
Junior RB Jeff Demps remains hampered by a stress reaction in his foot, and could play sparingly if necessary.
"Demps is about where he is,'' Meyer said. "He'll play and be available. It’s going to take time to heal.''
Demps has played sparingly since injuring his foot in the Sept. 18 game at Tennessee.
Florida is also expected to pursue a medical hardship from the NCAA for kicker Caleb Sturgis, who has missed seven game due to a fractured back.
