Gators to be without starting QB John Brantley against LSU

October

Florida QB John Brantley will miss the LSU game with a "lower leg injury", Florida coach Will Muschamp confirmed today.

Muschamp would not elaborate on Brantley's injury, but said he will give updates every Monday, which seems to indicate he could miss more than one game.

Brantley was reportedly seen walking on campus with a boot on his right leg, and on crutches.

"He's disappointed, I'm hurting for him,'' Muschamp said.

Muschamp said freshman Jeff Driskel is the starter entering the week, but that Tyler Murphy and Jacoby Brissett will also get reps in practice this week.

Incidentally, Muschamp said Driskel sprained his ankle in the Alabama game, but "he'll be fine."
