Gators to begin baseball Super Regional play on Friday against Mississippi State

Florida will begin NCAA Super Regional play on Friday against SEC rival Mississippi State.

The Gators  (48-16) and Bulldogs (37-23) will play at 12 p.m. at McKethan Stadium in Gainesville. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.

The second game of the best-of-three series will be televised at noon on Saturday on ESPN. If necessary, the third and deciding game will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday on ESPN.

Florida defeated Manhattan 17-3 this past Friday, then defeated Miami 5-4 on Saturday and 11-4 on Sunday to advance to the NCAA Super Regional. Mississippi State swept the Atlanta Regional by defeating Southern Miss (3-0), Austin Peay (8-3) and host No. 9 Georgia Tech (7-3).

This will be the fourth meeting this season between the Gators and Bulldogs. MSU took won the first game, but Florida has won the last three by scores of 18-0, 3-1 and 7-5.
