Gators coach Will Muschamp denies serious injury to QB Jeff Driskel
Florida coach Will Muschamp is denying reports that sophomore QB Jeff Driskel has suffered a significant shoulder injury.
According a statment from Muschamp on Gatorzone.com, Driskel is fine and practicing with the team.
"Jeff was at practice today and will be taking reps at practice Wednesday,'' Muschamp said.
Earlier today, several reports said Driskel has suffered a "significant" shoulder injury, and the Twitter world was abuzz about the beginning of the Jacoby Brissett era.
Muschamp said on Monday that he and offensive coordinator Brent Pease were seriously considering removing the non-contact jerseys from Driskel and Jacoby Brissett to allow them more live, game-type contact.
"Brent and I talked after the scrimmage (on Saturday) about making them, putting them in a blue jersey,'' Muschamp said. "From the simple standpoint of feeling the presence in the pocket and from the pocket collapsing, getting rid of the football, not taking a negative play. Both of them need to work on that.''
