Gators could get some defensive players back for Georgia game
When Florida meets Georgia Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville, the Gators may have some significant defensive players back in the lineup. DT’s Jaye Howard (knee) and Lawrence Marsh (ankle) both practiced on Tuesday and the coaching staff is hopeful they’ll be able to play on Saturday. Marsh has missed most of the season with his injury, Howard the past two games.
“He and Howard both practiced and if they continue to work like they did tonight, they'll definitely play in the game Saturday,’’ assistant coach Dan McCarney said. “It's a long time coming. We haven't gotten anything out of Lawrence this year because of that ankle and we’re going into our eighth game. It'll be great to get them both back.’’
DT Brandon Antwine (shoulder) is doubtful, but DE Justin Trattou remains a possibility. He suffered a ruptured bicep tendon against Arkansas. He had been told his recovery would take 4-6 weeks, but he's recovering much quicker.
"There's a chance you might see him jog out on the field on Saturday,’’ UF coach Urban Meyer said. “That's one of the toughest guys I've ever met.’’
