Gators could lose a fourth assistant coach
The number of vacant assistant coaches positions that need to be filled at Florida may be growing.
Running backs coach Kenny Carter has reportedly been offered a position with former defensive coordinator Charlie Strong at Louisville, and is pondering the offer. He would join cornerbacks coach Vance Bedford on Strong's staff.
Rivals.com is reporting that Florida commitment Mack Brown, a top running back from Georgia, was told by Carter that he is leaving the UF staff. Carter declined to answer questions about his status at UF following the Gators' Sugar Bowl win over Cincinnati Friday night, but said two weeks ago he had no plans to leave. Of course, that was before head coach Urban Meyer's decision to step away from the program indefinitely.
Since the regular season ended, Florida has lost Strong, Bedford and former receivers coach Billy Gonzales. The Gators immediately replaced Gonzales with former Central Michigan coach Zach Azzani.
