Gators' Dan Quinn eager to see how his defense looks in a real game
Genrerally by this time new Dan Quinn would have had several opportunities to see his players in action. As a former NFL assistant, Quinn is used to the benefit of NFL preseason games to evaluate how his players are progressing.
That's one of the changes he's had to adjust to with his move to the collegiate level and becoming Florida's defensive coordinator. His first opportunity to see his players in action comes this Saturday in the season-opener against Florida Atlantic and Quinn can hardly wait.
"It's been different for me, for sure,'' Quinn said. "We've had the scrimmages and in my mind I've kind of seen those as preseason games to really get a hard evaluation. I'm so excited to get started here. The whole purpose in me coming here was working with Will and being a part of these guys and get going. So now that the season's going, I can't wait.''
