Gators defeat Kentucky 48-10 for 25th consecutive victory
Despite the temporary loss of QB John Brantley to injury, Florida left Commonwealth Stadium with a 48-10 victory over Kentucky Saturday night.
It was the 25th consecutive victory for the Gators over Kentucky, a streak dating back to 1986. It ranks fourth on the the list for the most consecutive wins over a major conference opponent in a current series that is played annually.
The Gators rushed for 405 yards, led by Jeff Demps (157) and Chris Rainey (105) - who became the first Gator RB duo to surpass 100 yards in the same game since Rainey (142) and Emmanuel Moody (116) in 2008 against The Citadel.
Florida coach Will Muschamp became the sixth Florida head coach in school history to begin his Gator career 4-0, joining Urban Meyer (2005), Steve Spurrier (1990), Galen Hall (1984-85), Charles Bachman (1928) and William Kline (1920).
