Gators earn first regular season sweep over Florida State since 1958
After losing two consecutive series and falling out of No. 1 in the Baseball America poll, Florida (26-7) rallied from a 3-0 deficit with six unanswered runs to defeat No. 1 Florida State (27-6) 6-3 in Tallahassee on Tuesday night.
It was the first regular-season sweep of the Seminoles since 1958, and the first win against a No. 1 team since 2007.
Freshman Ryan Harris (1-0) retired all nine batters he faced over a career-high three innings to pick up his first collegiate win. Freshman Casey Turgeon of Palm Harbor broke a 3-3 tie with a bases-loaded single in the sixth and the Gator bullpen threw six shutout innings with seven strikeouts and one hit.
