Gators F Erik Murphy expected to return for Arizona game

Florida starting forward Erik Murphy is expected to return to lineup when the Gators host Arizona Wednesday night at the O'Connell Center.

Murphy has missed the past three games with a knee injury.

"He’s going to play,'' Florida coach Billy Donovan said Monday. "Right now he’s been cleared. He worked out (Sunday) on his own and did some running. He’ll probably go through about half the contact (today). Provided the next two days go as planned with him physically, he should be able to play. He feels good right now. We’ll have him out there today and I’ll probably know. I would anticipate right now, the expectation level is he’s going to play in the game. But obviously if there’s some kind of setback here today or tomorrow, then we won’t play him, But as of today we’re going to play him.''

The junior scored back-to-back games in double figures for the first time in his career against Ohio State and North Florida. He injured his knee during practice on Thanksgiving Day.

Tipoff for Wednesday's game is 7 p.m., and the game can be seen on ESPN.
