Gators fall five and six spots in national polls, Brantley's status uncertain
Following its 38-10 loss to Alabama on Saturday night, Florida fell six spots to No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and to No. 17 in the Associated Press poll, both released today.
Meanwhile, Florida athletic officials have not released any information related to the status of starting QB John Brantley.
Brantley injured his right leg with 35 seconds remaining in the second quarter and did not return.
Florida coach Will Muschamp said after the game he didn't know the extent of the injury and would have more information from Florida's medical staff today.
Florida's life doesn't get any easier this week, particularly if Brantley is unable to play. The Gators' upcoming opponent, LSU, remained at No. 1 in the AP poll and is ranked No. 3 in the coaches poll.
