Gators fall to Ohio State 95-73
Florida sophomore guard Kenny Boynton had a team-high 21 points and three other Gators scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough.
Led by 26 points each from freshman center Jared Sullinger and forward David Lighty, No. 4 Ohio State defeated No. 9 Florida 93-75 in front of 12,110 at the O'Connell Center Tuesday night.
Florida shot 60 percent from the field in the first half and scored 24 points in the paint. The Gators also outrebounded the Buckeyes 19-8.
Florida led 41-38 at halftime in a game with 11 lead changes in the first eight minutes of the second half. But trailing 57-56 with 12:28 remaining in the game, the Buckeyes went on a 26-10 run - including 20 points in the paint - that ultimately sealed the win. The Gators had 11 second half turnovers.
Ohio State made 24-of-34 shots in the second half. Florida (1-1) shot 63.2 percent from the field in the second half, but the Buckeyes countered with 70.6 percent from the field.
