Gators host Florida State tonight

Florida (9-2) will play its final game before taking a short holiday break tonight when the Gators host Florida State (8-3) at the O'Connell Center.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPNU.

No. 11 Florida will be trying to win its 12th consecutive home game.  The Gators most likely will be without guard Mike Rosario (lower back problems) and forward Cody Larson (strep throat) for the second consecutive game.

For Gators like senior guard Erving Walker and freshman Bradley Beal, who are not from Florida, tonight's game is just another formidable opponent. But for sophomore center Patric Young, ,a Jacksonville native who grew up a Florida fan and was recruited by FSU, playing Florida State is special.

"I just know that every time I play those guys I want to win,'' Young said. "It’s a rivalry I’ve grown up with since I was a young lad. I’ve grown up as a Gator from my grandparents, going to Florida football games. And now that I’m playing basketball, I still have the rivalry (feel). I don’t hate them, but I just want to win every time we play them.''
