Gators Jon Halapio named SEC Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week

Halpio, the former St. Pete Catholic standout, has helped anchor the Gators’ offensive line this season and graded out a team-high among offensive linemen after the 31-17 win over Vanderbilt Saturday.

He helped the offensive unit rush for 326 yards, 9.3 yards per carry – the team’s best single-game average since it averaged 10.6 yards versus The Citadel on Nov. 22, 2008.  The 9.3 yards per rush is second-best nationally in a conference game this season and the most in an SEC league game since Alabama averaged 9.4 yards per rush versus Arkansas on Sept. 20, 2008.

Halapio is an integral part of a UF offense that is now averaging 233.3 rushing yards per game. A redshirt junior, he has started every game this season and currently owns the most consecutive starts on offense - 18.
