Gators lose No. 1 spot in baseball to Florida State

Florida's reign at No. 1 in the Baseball America college baseball poll has ended after the Gators struggled the past two weeks.

The nation's new No. 1 is Florida State, which won its eighth consecutive series of the year with a sweep over Georgia Tech this past weekend, and has won 14 of its first 15 ACC games.

Florida, which began the season as preseason No. 1, lost its second straight series this past weekend - to LSU - and fell to No. 7. in this week's rankings. Texas A&M move up to No. 2.

Five of the top 11 teams are in the SEC.

Florida (25-7) will travel to play Florida State (27-5) on Tuesday night. It is the finale of the regular season series between the two schools.
