Gators lose out on JUCO quaterback prospect

Florida's attempts to land junior college QB Tanner McEvoy fell short today as the Hillsdale, N.J. native orally commited to Wisconsin.

McEvoy, a 6-foot-6, 215-pound dual-threat quarterback from Arizona Western College, chose UW over Florida and Oregon.

McEvoy signed with South Carolina out of high school and redshirted in 2011. This past fall he transferred to Arizona Western College wheren he started the final nine games of the season, passing for more than 1,500 yards and 21 touchdowns. Arizona WC finished with an 8-2 record.

As of now, the Gators' two backup quarterbacks behind starter Jeff Driskel have no collegiate playing experience.
