Gators' Maurkice Pouncey taking hits on surgically repaired shoulder
Florida OL Maurkice Pouncey returned to practice on Tuesday for the first time after being held out by the coaching staff the past two weeks to protect him from further injury following offseason shoulder surgery to repair a labrum tear.
“It felt real good, back out there having contact with the boys, just having fun, Pouncey said. “You know I was out there talking a little smack, but it's all about the game.’’
Pouncey, a preseason All-SEC selection, said he fought to no avail with the coaching staff to let him practice, but understands they are trying to protect him. He said he’s not worried about re-injuring his shoulder.
“I ain't going to think about injury,’’ he said. “If it happens, it happens, but I'm out there full go.’’
