Gators post successful NCAA Academic Progress Rates in all sports

20

June

Every one of Florida's sports programs scored above the NCAA-mandated performance cutoff in the most recent Academic Progress Rate (APR), according to information released by the NCAA today.

The APR is measured over a four-year period, and rates the academic eligibility and retetion os student-athletes. Data released today covers the academic years from 2007-08 to 2010-11

Any Division I team scoring below 930 in the APR is subject to sanctions, which could include the loss of scholarships. Any athletic team scoring less than 900 could be held out of postseason competition.

Florida did not have a single team to incur penalties, but its men's cross country team tallied the lowest score - 931- which is one over the mandated score.

The softball team scored a perfect 1,000, while 12 other teams scored 975 or above.

The football team scored 972, which was second-highest in the SEC behind Vanderbilt (978). The men's basketball team posted a 983 score.
