Gators' Preston Tucker ties Florida's career RBI record

68.jpgFormer Tampa Plant standout Preston Tucker hit a lead-off home run in the fifth inning Wednesday night to move into a tie on Florida's career RBI list. The No. 1 Gators defeated No. 19 UCF 10-0.

Tucker now has 214 career RBI, tying Brad Wilkerson’s school record set from 1996-98.

"It was just a fastball, down in the zone, but it cut hard to the plate so I got a pretty good swing on it,” Tucker said. “It barreled up and I hit it just about as hard as I could.”

In five games this season, Tucker is hitting .450 with three home runs, two doubles and six RBI.

Tucker will have an opportunity to take sole possession of the career record on Friday night, when the Gators host William & Mary.
