Gators' QB John Brantley is probable for Georgia game

Florida senior QB John Brantley is probable for Saturday's game against Georgia, Florida coach Will Muschamp said today.

Muschamp said Brantley attended practices last week, but did not participate in drills. He will practice in a limited role this week, beginning today.

"I think again, as of today on Monday he's probable for the game,'' Muschamp said. "We expect his reps to increase as the week goes.''

Muschamp said backup QB's Jeff Driskel and Jacoby Brissett will also get reps this week, and a backup will be determined later in the week, assuming Brantley is physically capable of starting, which is what Muschamp seems to be anticipating.

"I fully expect him (Brantley) to continue to progress through the week unless we hit something we can't predict,'' Muschamp said. "I fully expect him to be fine.''

Florida will play Georgia on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Everbank Field in Jacksonville.
