Gators remain No. 1 in AP poll, Alabama rises to No. 2
With its 13-3 victory over LSU Saturday night, Florida maintained its No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press poll, but another SEC team is right on its heels.
Alabama leaped Texas into the No. 2 ranking behind the Gators, knocking undefeated Texas into No. 3.
Support for Alabama is steadily growing. The Tide picked up 10 first place votes, up from five last week.
Florida received 50 first-place votes, its lowest of the season.
This is the secod time in the past two years that Alabama and Florida have held the top two spots in the rankings. Last year, the Crimson Tide was No. 1 and the Gators No. 2 for two weeks before they played in the SEC title game.
