Gators reportedly set to hire South Carolina assistant Brad Lawing
According to several media outlets, including 247Sports.com out of South Carolina, Florida is expected to hire South Carolina defensive line coach Brad Lawing to fill the Gators' vacant assistant coaching position.
Florida coach Will Muschamp said on Friday he had candidates in mind for the position left vacant due to the departure of defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who resigned last week to accept the same position with the Seattle Seahawks. Florida linebackers/special teams coach D.J. Durkin was promoted to defensive coordinator.
Lawing has been a member of Steve Spurrier's staff since 2006.
Florida has not confirmed whether Lawing has been hired.
