Gators' safety Jordan Haden granted release to transfer
Jordan Haden, the Florida freshman safety and brother of former Gator Joe Haden, has left the team and plans to transfer.
"Jordan Haden has asked for a release, and the football staff has granted him a release,'' Florida athletics spokesman Steve McClain said. "The football staff has met with him. He’s a great kid, he comes from a really great family and the staff obviously wishes him nothing but the best. But he’s been granted his release. Sometimes that happens."
Haden enrolled at UF in January, and participated in spring drills with the Gators. He was rated the No. 12 safety in the nation by Rivals.com coming out of Friendly High School in Fort Washington, MD.
Haden's brother Joe played three seasons with the Gators and was a first round draft choice of the Cleveland Browns in the 2010 draft.
Florida is not expected to place any restrictions on Haden's release.
