Gators starting QB Jeff Driskel most likely out for Jacksonville State game
Florida sophomore QB Jeff Driskel will most likely miss this weekend's home finale against Jacksonville State after suffering a sprained ankle in last weekend's game against Louisiana-Lafayette.
Florida coach Will Muschamp said Driskel is doubtful for the game.
"We'll try to get him on the field Wednesday," Muschamp said. "If he can't go by then, certainly we'll go with Jacoby (Brissett). We have all the confidence in the world Jacoby will play well. "
Driskel was injured in the third quarter of Saturday's game. Brissett finished 6-of-8 for 64 yards and one touchdown.
“He's got some swelling on it,'' Muschamp said. "It's a sprained ankle. We're going to find out what he can do. He's in a walking boot right now. That's a precautionary (measure). That's what we always do with any sprained ankle. They're wanting to see how the swelling (goes). I feel like we’ll see Wednesday what he can do or if he can do anything. If not, then we’ll go forward and be fine. Jacoby will play well.”
