Gators' Will Yeguete named to SEC Men's Basketball Community Service Team
Sophomore guard Will Yeguete has been named to the SEC's 2012 Men's Basketball Community Service Team.
A native of Bordeaux, France, was named to the team for his continued work in the Gainesville community. Yeguete has volunteered with his Gator teammates for events including: At the Climb for Cancer Foundation’s Brandon Ling Memorial Sports Camp, Yeguete and other UF student-athletes spent time with cancer patients and their siblings; he assisted in a Thanksgiving food drive where he and several other Gators helped unload, pack, reload and distribute food to feed over 500 needy and homeless families in Gainesville and the surrounding communities, and has visited children at Shands Hospital.
Yeguete, who suffered a broken left foot in the Feb. 21 game against Auburn, is out for the remainder of the season.
The SEC's Community Service Team is part of a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition.
