Georgia has opportunity to help the Gators win a title



Georgia can have a direct impact on Florida's quest to win an outright SEC men's basketball championship this weekend.

The Bulldogs will play at Alabama on Saturday afternoon and a win would not only bolster their NCAA Tournament chances, but put Florida in a position to control its own destiny in winning the regular season championship without the "co-champion" title.

An Alabama loss to Georgia and a win for Florida over Vanderbilt would result in Florida winning it all.

By the time Florida and Vanderbilt tip off at 6 p.m. on Saturday, the Alabama game, which tips off at 1:30 p.m., will be decided. And Florida coach Billy Donovan plans to spend a lot of time over the next 24 hours reminding his team that their focus better be on Vanderbilt and not on the Georgia-Alabama game.
